Work is underway on a new bridge over the Shuswap River on Trinity Valley Road, east of Enderby.

B.C.’s Ministry of Transportation awarded a $16.6 million contract in November 2023 to Formula Contractors for a two-lane steel-and-concrete bridge to replace the existing single-lane wooden bridge, called the Baxter Bridge, which was built in 1950 and has reached the end of its lifespan.

Staff of Beach Radio and Vernon Matters were recently at the site and took some pictures of the new bridge construction.

The new bridge is expected to be done in the spring of 2026

The existing bridge will remain open during construction.
