Make-your-own air filter workshops planned
People looking to keep the air in their home clear this summer will have the opportunity to build their own air filters.
Simon Fraser University, in partnership with Interior Health and the City of Kelowna, is hosting three workshops in Kelowna to help people build their own air filters and reduce the amount of particulate matter they inhale.
Spaces in the workshops are reserved for seniors and people with pre-existing lung conditions, such as asthma, as they are the most in need of added air filtration, especially during wildfire season.
The do-it-yourself (DIY) filters are made up of box fans and filters fastened together with duct tape and stickers.
