Show & Shine Beauties, Plus A Few Beaters

Nothing says summer quite like a full-blown Show and Shine! Is it the classic cruisers you love or the good ol’ vintage trucks? Maybe you’re happy checking out anything with a motor and wheels. You’ll find it all at the Show & Shine June 23rd, presented by Vernon Nissan.

Vehicles are the stars of the show, but the event also has a lot more in store for you. Along with the massive local car display, there’ll be food trucks, a kids’ zone, and raffles and prizes. There’ll even be a parts clearance set up to find savings on parts for your own ride.

The Show & Shine is on from 11:00-3:00 at 6417 Highway 97N, and admission is free. It’s a great way to spend a few hours on a Sunday, have lunch at one or two of the food trucks, and take in some of our area’s automotive eye candy!

All vehicles are welcome. For more info, or to get your pride & joy included in the Show & Shine, call Vernon Nissan at 250-542-0371, email info@vernonnissan.com, or DM them on Instagram @vernonnissan.

The OKGN’S Worst Vehicle

While the restored vintage vehicles and cool hot rods are sure to get lots of “oohs” and “ahhs,” there’ll also be a few that grab attention for the opposite reason.

If you have a rusty, dented, or just straight-up ugly car, why not enter it in the OKGN’S Worst Vehicle contest? It’s a celebration of our area’s quirkiest and charmingly unsightly vehicles.

Fantastic prizes are up for grabs! Here’s how to enter:

  • Take a picture of your vehicle. Tip: be sure the photo really showcases what makes it ugly!
  • Describe why your eyesore deserves to be crowned the worst
  • Submit by posting the pic and description with the hashtag #okanagansworstvehicle and tag Vernon Nissan

Along with prizes, the top three winners will be featured at the Vernon Nissan Show and Shine …even if they don’t exactly shine! Vehicles must start when prompted and must be insured. Entry deadline is May 31. Winners announced on June 1.
