A series of mountain bike competitions will be riding into the Vernon area this summer.

The Crankworx Summer Series will be held at SilverStar Mountain Resort, and this year will feature a brand-new women’s event.

The mountain bike festival will run from August 2 to 4, and along with its regular schedule, it will feature the new Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) Gold Level Women’s Slopestyle.

“Crankworx is always a highlight on our event calendar, and we can’t wait to bring world class biking back to the Okanagan for another summer especially on our 30th anniversary,” Director of Sales, Marketing and Events, Ian Jenkins, said.

“We are especially excited to have a brand-new women’s event in the FMB Gold Level Women’s Slopestyle, it really is going to be something quite special.”

The Crankworx Summer Series will also see the Rheeder Slopestyle, B.C./Canada Cup Downhill and Pump Track events go at SilverStar. The full schedule will be released at a later date.

There will also be a variety of multi-discipline bike events for riders of all levels and ages during the three day mountain bike festive, as well as live music and food services.

“It’s going to be an action-packed weekend filled with big air, fast berms, and some of the world’s best riders,” Jenkins added.

SilverStar Bike Park is marking its 30th year of lift access biking by introducing new features and updating popular trails in time for the hill to open on June 21.

Major updates to the flow and tech are also planned, as well as a new accessible hiking loop, progression-based jump lines, and new woodwork for this mountain bike season.
