Leak Detection Work

Work planned for Mabel Lake Water Utility

Mabel Lake Water Utility customers may have some service disruptions due to planned work on the system.

The Regional District of North Okanagan will be conducting leak detection work on the system starting Tuesday, Apr. 30, and continuing through the week between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The RDNO said the work may cause the water to be cloudy, air to get into pipes, or temporary interruptions in water services.

People hooked to the Mabel Lake system are advised to have a short-term water supply available while the work is underway.

Anyone who’s water service is interrupted due to the work is advised to run the cold water tap closest to where the water enters the home until the water runs clear. The RDNO said it’s best to run an outdoor tap for this process.
