Battle for playoff spots at Esso Cup

The fight to make the final four will go down to the final day of the round robin at the Esso Cup in Vernon.

All six teams still have a shot at making Friday’s semi finals at the Canadian Women’s Under 18 club hockey championships at Kal Tire Place.

• Kadence Dansereau (Birch Hills, SK) and Berlin Lolacher (Pilot Butte, SK) rounded out the scoring for the Rebels.
• Hannah Tresek (Regina, SK) and Adriana Bashnick (Balgonie, SK) combined to make 24 saves.

• Kélia Gilbert (Rouyn-Noranda, QC) scored twice and added an assist.
• Laurence Lafleur (Gatineau, QC) and Genevieve Godin (Thurso, QC) each had a goal and an assist.
• Marielle Séguin-Letourneau (Gatineau, QC) made 32 saves for the victory.

Edmonton Jr. Oilers 4, Northern Selects 1

• The Jr. Oilers got goals from four different skaters en route to the victory.
• All four Jr. Oiler goals came on special teams: three power play and one short-handed goal.
• The Jr. Oilers outshot the Selects 56-14
