The Federal Carbon Tax increase has not affected local pumps so far.

The fuel price tracking website Gas Buddy reported no changes at the pumps in Vernon or Kelowna Monday, April 1.

In Vernon, the average price per litre of regular fuel was recorded at $1.67.9 Monday. That was the same price from the previous day, week and month, and was also down four cents from the rate recorded a year ago.

In Kelowna, the average price per litre was $1.74.9, which was unchanged on a daily basis. There was a 13 cent price hike on Thursday, March 28, but the price per litre had not changed since then.

The price for fuel in Kelowna was up seven cents on a monthly basis, but was flat when compared to the average rate of $1.74.9 recorded one year ago.

B.C. has its own Carbon Tax, though it was expected that the federal increase, which would average out to an additional three cents per litre, would be reflected in the provincial tax as well.
