New medical lab to open in Vernon, taking place of one that’s closing

One Vernon medical lab will be closing next month, but another using the same staff, will open a few days later, a few blocks away.

The Dynacare Labratory and Health Services Centre will be located at 102-5240 Anderson Way and will open on Monday, April 8.

A ribbon cutting and preview event will be held April 4.

“The new, spacious Anderson Way location features state-of-the-art Dynacare technology and ample free parking. This centre enhances access to health services in the community, reinforcing Dynacare as a valuable partner to the British Columbia healthcare system,” Mark Bernhardt, Dynacare’s director of corporate communications, said.

In addition to blood and urine collection and testing, Dynacare will also offer national testing services such as the Harmony non-invasive prenatal test.

The centre will be open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended hours for appointment-only online bookings (Dynacare.ca/Find-a-Location) on Wednesdays until 8 p.m.

The Valley Medical Laboratories location (4710 31st St.) will close on Friday, April 5 at 4 p.m., and that team will open the Dynacare centre on April 8.

Services and hours for the downtown Valley Medical lab at 101-3207 30th Ave., also operated by Dynacare, remain unchanged.

Dynacare operates 170 laboratory and health services centres, eight laboratories and 11 offices across Canada.
