A member of the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP is pushing his body to the limits by running in the 2024 Montane Yukon Arctic Ultra.

Cpl. Brady Kyle is participating in the grueling 300 Mile race from Shipyard’s Park in Whitehorse to Pelly Farm, west of Pelly Crossing.

The 48-year-old Mountie is one of 16 participants racing on foot. Another two are doing the trek on cross-country skis.

Along with the 300 Mile race, there is a 100 Mile and a Marathon race taking place at the same time. No other participants in any of the events are from Vernon or the Okanagan.

The 300 Mile race began at 9:30 a.m. local time Sunday, Feb. 4.

The last update posted at 10:13 a.m. PST Tuesday, Feb. 6, showed Kyle travelled 87.2 miles on foot. He was in eighth place in the race at the time.
