Companies kick in to re-roof hospice house
When the North Okanagan Hospice Society (NOHS) put out a call last October for help re-roofing the original part of the 27th Avenue 12-bed home, Community Roofing owner Ray Skelton stepped up with a $20,000 labour donation.
“We decided to do this because we have had roofers and family members use hospice, just people we know and they took such good care of them,” Skelton said at the time.
Work started on Wednesday, stripping the old roof, and another local company, LMEC Siding Ltd., showed up with four workers to help get the job done quickly.
