Vernon manslaughter suspect ordered to stand trial

A suspect in a Vernon manslaughter case has been ordered to stand trial after a preliminary hearing in Vernon provincial court.

Shaun Weibe will next be appearing in B.C. Supreme Court Nov. 21 to fix a date for a trial.

He earlier chose to be tried by a judge with no jury.

Weibe, who was born in 1977, is charged with causing the death of Heather Barker, who was found unresponsive in her home on Cordon Place in Vernon in March 2018.
