Nomination forms available for RDNO director positions

People interested in representing their areas within the Regional District of North Okanagan (RDNO) can now pick up their nomination forms.

People can run for directors of Electoral Areas B (Swan Lake/Commonage), C (BX/Silver Star), D (Rural Lumby), E (Cherryville), and F (Rural Enderby).

Nomination forms for office of Electoral Area Director can be acquired at the RDNO office at 9848 Aberdeen Rd. in Coldstream; Enderby City Hall at 619 Cliff Ave.; or Lumby City Hall at 1775 Glencaird St.

Starting Aug. 30, nomination forms can be submitted to the RDNO’s Chief Election Officer, or designated person, by hand, mail, or other delivery service at the RDNO office, or emailed to elections@rdno.ca.

The submission deadline is Sept. 9.

In order to qualify, a nominee must be a Canadian citizen; a resident of B.C. for at least six months; 18 years or older on general voting day; and not disqualified under the Local Government Act, disqualified by law, or any other enactment from being nominated for, being elected to, or holding the office.
