Jul 14, 2022 | 1:30 PM

Work by local artists will be up for auction at the 36th annual Midsummer’s Eve of the Arts.

The Vernon Public Art Gallery (VPAG) is hosting the fundraising event that will see over 50 pieces from local artists, as well as some experience packages, be auctioned off.

Some of the featured artists include James Postill, Rick Bond, Julie Oakes, and Gabrielle Strong, all of whom are well known in the arts community. Additionally, there will be works by breakout artists such as Jordan MacDonald, Jaley Teroe and Nic Cameron included in the auction.

The event will be held within VPAG and its surrounding street, 31st Ave., on Wednesday, July 20. The silent auction will be open until midnight Wednesday, and a live auction, hosted by Valley Auction’s Don Raffan, will begin at 7:30 p.m.

There is a limited number of tickets available, which can be purchased through VPAG’s website.

The gallery says this year’s event will “take on an urban chic flair as the gallery is transformed into a magnificent botanical dreamscape.”

Brian Martin and Rebecca Barton of Beach Radio will be the emcees.

Funds raised at the live and silent auctions will go to support the gallery.
