The Independent Investigations Office of B.C. (IIO BC) is investigating an incident in Okanagan Falls that resulted in two people being injured.

The incident occurred just before 7 p.m. July 10 when a B.C. Highway Patrol (BCHP) officer was on the way to the scene of an incident in Okanagan Falls.

The officer was travelling on Maple Street when he collided with a civilian vehicle driving on 10th Avenue.

The two occupants of the civilian vehicle were taken to hospital for treatment. One of the occupants was found to be suffering serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

Penticton RCMP and BCHP are conducting an investigation into the collision, while the IIO BC is investigating to see if police actions contributed to the men’s injuries.
