Grants to support youth

Youth Legacy Fund to benefit from Dream Auction bid

Nov 19, 2021 | 7:30 AM

The Paul Nixon Youth Legacy Fund is teaming up with the Kal Rotary Dream Auction to help local youth become the best they can be.

Nixon, who passed away at age 72 in November 2020, was a founder of the Nixon Wenger law firm, and was also known for his love of the community.

“Paul was a family man, a leader in his community, and a mentor. He helped many, many venturers to achieve their goals, thrive in the business community, and, in turn, enrich and give back to our community,” said a news release from the firm.

The Paul Nixon Youth Legacy fund is a permanent endowment, administered through the Community Foundation of the North Okanagan. In keeping with Nixon’s character and purpose, it will direct ongoing grants to support, educate and train local youth, with a focus on personal leadership and sustainable business models.

Nixon Wenger has committed to donate to the fund an amount equal to the winning bid of their Kal Rotary Dream Auction donated item, up to $10,000.

It means the succesful bid on the auction item donated by Nixon Wenger will have double the charity impact – a donation to Kal Rotary and one by Nixon Wenger to the Paul Nixon Youth Legacy Fund.

The Dream Auction ends this Saturday, Nov. 20.
