Spallumcheen encourages people to buy local amid supply chain concerns

Nov 18, 2021 | 12:31 PM

With the public’s concern rising over impacts to the supply chain due to weather events, the Township of Spallumcheen is encouraging people to buy local.

In a statement, the municipality said that “local stores and farmers are working hard to ensure the shelves remain stocked and there is enough to go around.”

It notes that while some people may not be able to find their favorites brands in store, this does create an opportunity for people to find a local producer.

“If the past two years has taught us anything about ourselves it is that we are resilient and stronger when we work together,” the statement said.

The township encourages people to view the listing of local retailers and farm sales establishment at the Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce website to find alternative local sources for food and provisions.

Spallumcheen also said that “while we navigate the challenging times, our thoughts go out to those directly impacted by the flooding.”
