Active COVID-19 cases climb in the Interior
After several days of seeing more recoveries than new cases, Interior Health is reporting an increase of active COVID-19 cases.
The number in the Interior rose to 1,223, up 56 from the previous day, as 233 new cases were recorded in the region Wednesday.
The new cases were part of 759 across B.C., which helped push the provincial active case count up to 5,458.
B.C.’s Ministry of Health reports that the number of hospitalizations in the province due to COVID-19 increased to 324 on Wednesday, and that 157 of those patients are in intensive care.
