300 properties on evacuation alert due to Sparks Lake fire

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has added nearly 300 more properties to evacuation alert status due to the nearby Sparks Lake wildfire.

Most of the 298 properties are in the areas of Loon Lake and Hihium Lake:

• 5472 to 5993 3400 Rd;
• 5293 and 5675 342 Rd;
• 5848 Clinton-Loon Lake Forest Service Rd;
• 1810 to 3520 Look Lake Rd;
• 2970 to 3103 Stevens Rd; and
• all properties within the area outlined in this map

Those on evacuation alert should be prepared to leave on very short notice.

Earlier Wednesday (June 30), the B.C. Wildfire Service increased its estimated size for the Sparks Lake fire northwest of Kamloops to 4,000 hectares.
