New brochure helps users navigate Okanagan Rail Trail

“Enjoy – Connect – Respect. Be a Friend to the Okanagan Rail Trail” is the title of the brochure produced by Friends of Okanagan Rail Trail (FORT) and now available from trail ambassadors and soon to be available at trail minded businesses, the Rail Trail Cafe and local bike shops.

Trail users and trail-oriented businesses have often asked for a map of the Okanagan Rail Trail (ORT). While there is great information on the website, until now there had been no printed map.

FORT produced a multi-purpose brochure that includes a trail map with QR code link to the online interactive map. The brochure also provides a link to ‘Learn More’ about topics covered at each of the established interpretive sites.

Trail safety and etiquette tips are also covered.

Copies of the brochure and a map poster will also be provided to trail-oriented businesses upon request and while supplies last.

With the potential for ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, outdoor activities like the ORT are expected to be well used again this season.

FORT has estimated that there would be 588,000 users of the trail by year five of ORT operation.
