Regional construction off to a good start

Construction numbers are in for January for the five electoral area’s A,B,C,D, F and Enderby and Lumby, and they are tracking with January of last year.

There were 10 permits, including three for residences for a value $1,255,000, compared to 11 permits, 2 residences and $1,043,000 in January 2020.

Indications from inquiries and proposal discussions indicate it could be solid year for construction.

“A lot of stuff is going on, things are very busy,” Rob Smailes, General Manager of Planning and Building at the Regional District of North Okanagan told electoral area directors at a meeting on Thursday.
