Riviera Plaza and Conference Center leasing pub and restaurant

Dec 22, 2020 | 9:43 AM

The Green Pub and 27th Street Grill have been put up for lease by the owners of the Riviera Plaza and Conference Center (Village Green Hotel).

“The properties have been closed since March, and the hotel owners felt it was better to lease the pub and restaurant, so they could focus on running this hotel and their other hotels,” realtor Terese Cairns told Vernon Matters.

The pub has been a fixture of the North Okanagan live music scene for decades, while the ballrooms hosted weddings, conferences and holiday parties. The 27th Street Grill was a popular breakfast and lunch spot for both hotel guests and residents.

“There is a lot of square footage available for the right operator. The pub area could be expanded to about 11,000 square feet plus the outdoor patio, while the restaurant and kitchen offers nearly 5,000 square feet,” Cairns said. “We are starting to see an uptick in activity with the vaccine being rolled out. This is a great property for an independent operator.”

The two groups representing beverage licence holders, hotels and restaurants indicate that most of their members are struggling as a result of public health orders limiting capacity and hours of service.
