Chase fire crews battle late-night house fire

A home in Chase has been badly damaged after a fire Wednesday night.

Chase Fire Department Chief Brian Lauzon says crews got the call to Beach Crescent just after 10:00 p.m.

“They arrived on scene, it was a fully involved structure fire,” explains Lauzon. “(It was a) two-storey, upper floor fully involved.”

Lauzon said crews acted quickly and were able to knock down the fire. The upper floor of the house is a total loss, but the bottom structure is still intact.

Lauzon says he’ll be conducting his investigation later today.

“Crews did an awesome job knocking it down real fast after we arrived on scene,” Lauzon said. “It was a good fight all night; everyone’s pretty tired today, though.”
