Targeted attack, say police

UPDATE: Police say assault victim won’t cooperate

Jun 20, 2019 | 8:23 PM

UPDATE:

The victim of last night’s assault near the Gateway Shelter refuses to cooperate with police inquiries, RCMP reported Friday.

Police also said the attack was targeted.

Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, officers were called to 33rd Street and Coldstream Avenue for a reported assault.

Officers found a 30-year-old Vernon male cyclist on the ground with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

The male was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

“The victim in this incident is not cooperating with police at this time, therefore no arrests have made,” RCMP Const. Kelly Brett said. “The two males involved are known to each other and police believe it was a targeted attack.”
