Bursting water pipes keep crews busy

Freezing temperatures took out a couple of water pipes in the Vernon area.

Crews have been dealing with a water main break at Schram road in the BX area of Vernon.

The city says five properties are affected and are without water.

A resident in the area told Beach Radio News that a few homes have water seeping into the basements.

Fire crews, and district maintenance were on scene cleaning up the area.

The incident is the second time a water pipe has burst in less than 24 hrs.

Yesterday a water pipe burst on Pottery Road affecting several residents.

The City of Vernon says that they have since repaired the situation.
