Ten Taken Into Custody

Jan 24, 2019 | 1:55 PM

Police served a search warrant on a Kelowna home in the 1000 block on Clement Avenue after a pair of break and enter victims tracked their stolen property to the  residence.

Ten people were taken into custody.

“A large number of items, including allegedly stolen electronics, illicit drugs and prohibited weapons, were seized by police,” says Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey. “A number of the stolen items seized by police, have since been linked to recent commercial break and enters.”

51-year old George Rodgers of Kelowna has now been formally charged with break and enter and possession of break-in instruments.

“The police investigation continues at this time, which may result in the laying of additional charges,” adds O’Donaghey.

A 26-year-old man and a 37-year-old man from Kelowna, face potential charges. They were later released from police custody on conditions, expected to appear in Court on April 22, 2019.

O’Donaghey says the rest of the ten people taken into custody were identified and later released by police.
