Jail Time For Surfing Death

A tragic death involving a group of friends in Vernon has resulted in a prison sentence.

42 year old Byron James Walterhouse plead guilty to dangerous driving causing death in a car surfing incident in June 2016 that killed his best friend.

27 year old Justin Martyn of Spallumcheen had been riding on the car that went off Tronson Road and rolled.

Walterhouse, who expressed extreme remorse over the incident, was given nine months in jail, plus a three year driving prohibition.
