Brazen Thieves Hit Vernon Store

Police say a brazen ‘grab and dash’ theft in Vernon sounds similar to one in Kelowna.

Four men concealed their identity as they entered London Drugs in the Vernon Square Tuesday night around 10, and went to the electronics section.

They then grabbed two lap top computers that were on display and fled the store.

Mounties say the incident is similar to thefts that occurred in Kelowna at the Best Buy and other stores at the Orchard Park Centre on Wednesday.

“The Vernon North Okanagan RCMP area investigating this incident and will continue to liaise with the Kelowna RCMP in gathering evidence and identifying the subjects as they are believed to be related at this time,” says Cst. Kelly Brett.

The four suspects in the Vernon incident were described to police as being non-white males, each wearing dark clothing, hoodies, and hats with one male wearing a mask covering his face.

No one was injured in the theft and RCMP are looking to speak to anyone who may have seen the men in the area at the time of theft to call 250-545-7171 and reference file #2018-29246.
