Transport Ministers Mull Over Greyhound
BC’s Transportation Minister says she had a positive and productive conference call with her Western Canadian counterparts and a representative from Ontario yesterday about Greyhound.
Claire Trevena says they all agree Greyhound’s 90 day notice of service withdrawal is extremely short for alternatives to be developed.
She says they’ve agreed write to the federal minister of transport to advocate for all Canadians who need access to safe, reliable and affordable transportation.
Trevena says ministry staff will be in close contact with their federal counterparts, but she’s hoping local operators will see an opportunity to bring a badly needed service to the parts of the B.C. most affected by Greyhound’s decision.
