Update: Teen Bike Driver Dies

RCMP are investigating a fatal crash in Vernon.

A motorbike went off Old Kamloops Road in the 5300 block around 1 pm, killing the 19 year old male driver.

“An RCMP collision analyst is currently on scene to conduct further investigation into the cause of the collision,” says Cst. Kelly Brett.

Old Kamloops Road remains closed for the investigation with vehicles having to use Highway 97 as a detour.

Another motorcycle crashed this morning on Highway 97 south of Vernon where a rider hit a guardrail and went down an embankment, suffering minor injuries.

A Vernon area road has been closed as police investigate a motor vehicle crash.

A motorcycle driver was injured in a crash in the 56-hundred block of Old Kamloops Road just before 1pm.

No word how long the closure will be in effect.

Motorists are asked to use alternate routes.
