Plane Searchers Not Giving Up

Jun 28, 2018 | 6:47 AM

Searchers continue to scour a rural area east of Enderby for a plane that may have crashed there over six months ago.

28 year old pilot Dominic Neron and his 31 year old girlfriend Ashley Bourgeault vanished back in November while on a flight from Penticton to Edmonton.

Dominic’s sister, Tammy, is leading the volunteer search.

She says data from cell phone pings and witness reports lead her to believe the plane went down near Mabel Lake, possibly near Joss or Griffin Mountains.

“I do feel like we are definitely getting closer and closer each day. It’s just that this is such a big area to cover, and it’s a huge task,” Neron tells Beach Radio News.

Tammy says drones are the best option right now.

“We’ve been trying to take out as many drones as possible and get lots of footage of the area. And then we upload the images on Dropbox and have people that go through and sort through the images.”

Neron says they’ve had lots of volunteers providing drones and ATV’s to search, and could use more.
