Kin Beach Re-Opens

Kin Beach in Vernon has reopened to the public, after being deemed safe for use again.
A windstorm Monday toppled several trees at the site on Okanagan Lake which have now been cleaned-up.
The rest of the trees have been inspected to ensure the roots are safely anchored.
“City crews and citizens of the Okanagan Indian Band worked together to determine if the fallen trees could be used for a traditional purpose, such as a canoe, which would have been a fitting tribute to the old trees. Unfortunately, the wood was too decayed for an alternate use,” says a City news release.
