Full Schedule For Vernon’s Canada Day Celebration

It’s going to be a busy Canada Day in Vernon.

The North Okanagan Canada Day Society has announced its schedule of events for Sunday July 1st in Polson Park.

Activities will start at 10 am, and will include the opening ceremonies and cake cutting starting at 1 pm.

“We are excited to announce extreme motocross, ATV rides, a freestyle skateboard competition are back again and new this year will be the first annual bicycle and scooter decorating contest and parade” says NOCDS president Dave Frost.

Frost says people can also enjoy a variety of stage events along with food vendors, a dunk tank, mini golf, military display by the BC Dragoons and carnival games presented by Emmanuel Baptist Church.

“Special thank you to Dump Runz, Black and McDonald, Olympia Cycle and Ski, Vernon Volkswagen, Pinnacle Renewable Energy, Okanagan Restoration Services, and Brown’s Social House whose generous community minded support enable events like this to continue,” says Frost.

Stage 1

10:00am – Sadok Ukrainian Dancers
11:00am – Armonia
11:45pm – Chinese Rejoicing Team
12:15pm – Kids bike parade
12:45pm – Kalamalka Highland Pipe Band
1:00pm – Opening Ceremonies: Color Party, dignitaries, speeches
1:15pm – Singing of O’ Canada (Shaughnesey Rose) in English and French (cake cutting, Stage 2)
1:45pm – Shaughnesey Rose
2:30pm – Fiddler and the Keys (Old Time Music, Dance)
3:30pm – Lief David, Magician

11:30am – 1:30pm – Dump Runz dunk tank with special guests!
9:00am – 4:00pm – ATV, dirt bike and off-road vehicle static displays on East end of track
10:00am – 4:00pm – Mini golf
11:00AM and 2:00PM – Extreme motocross demonstrations with Reagan Sieg
10:00am – 4:00pm – Vernon ATV Club with a special course geared up to give rides to kids in a side by side train.
1:00am – 3:00pm – Special Canada Day Skateboard Competition sponsored by Okanagan Skate Co. and Primitive Canada.
