Kal Beach Pier Deemed Unsafe

It’s a popular summer hangout but the end of the dock at Kalamalka Beach has been fenced off and deemed unsafe due to last year’s flooding.

Insurers for the North Okanagan Regional District have conducted an extensive investigation, said Community Services General Manager Mike Fox.

“The damage is not just the top deck but it also the pilings so there has to be some work under the water,” Fox told Beach Radio News.

Fox asks people to obey the signs and stay away from the fenced-off location.
