Vernon SAR Member Receives National Service Award

Vernon Search and Rescue is celebrating one of its own this week.

Search Manager Coralie Nairn has been honoured by Public Safety Canada for her many hours as a volunteer and a strong advocate of search and rescue throughout Canada.

She is one of the recipients of the inaugural Emergency Management Exemplary Service Award which is given to individuals or groups that have distinguished themselves through exemplary actions and contributions to advancing emergency management.

Nairn has 28 years of experience as a Search and Rescue Manager with Vernon and Kelowna Search and Rescue, including 15 years teaching AdventureSmart programming and 8 years with the Civil Aviation Search and Rescue Association.
