Warm Weather Melting Snowpack Rapidly

The warm weather in many areas of BC this week is rapidly melting the mountain snowpack.
Dave Campbell from the River Forecast Centre says it’s reducing the chances of snow-related flooding.
Campbell notes that they are seeing little snow at lower elevations, about half of the snow has melted from mid elevations, and about 10-30 percent at upper elevations.
He says they expect another week of elevated risk from snow melt in smaller river systems, and up to another two weeks for the larger systems like the Fraser River.
