Low Gas Prices: Gone

The days of low gas prices in Vernon have come to an end — at least for now.

Prices have varied this week around the city, but were still among the lowest in BC — until today.

Most stations are up by more than 20 cents a litre, to $1.45.9 for regular unleaded.

Prices are up in Kelowna and other areas, with the switch to summer blended gas being cited as a reason.

BC’s highest gas is in Vancouver at $1.58a litre, while the lowest are in Prince George at $1.19.

BC has the highest average gas prices in Canada at $1.47 a litre.


There is a big gap in gas prices around Vernon today.

Some stations have increased their price for regular unleaded to $1.47.9 a litre, while others are selling for $1.23.9.

The stations at the lower end are seeing brisk business this morning.

Earlier this week, many outlets in the city were offering gas for $1.17.

Gas in Kelowna is selling for between $1.39 and $1.46.

BC has the highest average gas prices in Canada at $1.38 a litre.
