Last Chance To Comment On Waste-Recycling Plan

Apr 25, 2018 | 4:09 PM

The public still has a few more days to provide input on the regional district’s plan to manage residential and commercial waste.

The ten year plan provides options for reducing the amount of waste in local landfills from the current 550 kilograms per person a year, to 350 kilograms a year.

Residents will have until this Sunday to fill out the online survey, at www.rdno.ca, or provide feedback via email.

“We appreciate how dedicated everyone has been in making time to sit down with us to have discussions and provide feedback on this important process,” says Mike Fox, RDNO General Manager of Community Services. “This Plan will help reduce waste throughout the region, and provide a path for waste management in the future.”

The final Waste Disposal Plan will be presented to the RDNO board in May, and to the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Strategy in June 2018.
