How Long Is Your RV?

Jan 24, 2018 | 8:09 AM

Vernon council is putting a limit on who can complain about the length of parked recreational vehicles.

Apparently a person who was ticketed for that, has been lodging complaints about numerous other RV’s around the city not in compliance.

Councillor Brian Quiring says because of that, they have put a restriction on.

“The complainant needs to be within 500 feet (one block) of the violation,” says Quiring.

City staff are still looking into how long parked RV’s can be to comply with the bylaw after earlier concerns expressed by owners that the current 29 feet isn’t enough.

“It’s a big deal for a lot of people who are keeping trailers on property with no problems,” says councillor Scott Anderson, who adds a mid-range RV is currently not in compliance with the bylaw.
