Public Invited To Hear Lake Country Budget Plan

Jan 22, 2018 | 7:10 AM

Residents of Lake Country are invited to an Open House Tuesday to hear about the District’s budget plan.

Mayor James Baker hopes to hear what people are expecting in the coming year.

“They get another say and if we have to do any amendments we’ll do them after this final go round and then adopt our financial plan.”

The District’s proposals will be laid out along with where money is to be spent and  the tax rate.

“It’s three and a half right now and if there are now changes that’s what it will be and it’s providing all of what we need to do all our operations this year.”

Baker says they’re able to keep the rate down because of the growth in the district in the past year.

He does have some priorities.

“Continuing infrastructure upgrades. All of those areas that need sidewalks, better roads and safer ways of getting around in the community.” We’re doing more of that.”

The meeting will be held in the Carr’s Landing Room at Municipal Hall from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
