Coquihalla Expecting Snow…and Lots of It.

If you were planning on driving the Coquihalla Highway this weekend, you might want to rethink your plans.

Drive BC and Environment Canada have issued a snowfall warning from Hope to Merritt on the Coquihalla.

This is because of a Pacific front moving across the Interior, that could bring 10 to 20 centimetres tonight into Sunday.

Meteorologist Doug Lundquist told CFJC News, “We have two systems affecting us over the weekend…”A total of 20 to 40 centimetres could fall.”

He suggests motorists postpone their trips if possible, or at the very least check the Drive BC and Environment Canada websites for updates before heading out.
