Injured O’Keefe Ranch Boss Improving

Jan 19, 2018 | 7:22 AM

It’s been a slow process — but Glen Taylor hopes to eventually get back to doing most of the things he was able to do before.

The Coldstream councillor and O’Keefe Ranch manager suffered a serious spine injury at the ranch three months ago, and has been in Vancouver General Hospital since then.

Taylor says he’s now able to get around using a walker.

“Hands are working pretty good, not 100 percent, but they’re working and it’s just going to be a slow process to get back to where I was before, but at least things are going in the right direction ,” Taylor tells Beach Radio News

Taylor says he was left incapacitated after a drum he was picking-up with a tractor, fell on his head at the ranch in October.

He’s been able to resume his councillor duties, joining the meetings over the phone.

Taylor expects to be discharged from hospital Feb. 21, but says it could take up to two years for all the nerve ending to regenerate.

“I don’t think it’s ever going to be one hundred percent, but I’m able to walk now. By the time I get home I should be able to do stairs and walking.”
