Icy Roads Cause Accidents

Jan 19, 2018 | 8:58 AM

A note for motorists heading north into Vernon on Highway 97.

Police have the highway down to single lane traffic at the Bailey Road area after a rollover accident in the last hour.

A car went off the highway  and rolled down a slight embankment.

It’s not believed anyone was seriously injured.

Meanwhile, it’s believed a couple of people at least suffered minor injuries in a two vehicle accident on 27 street in the 3500 block this morning.

Icy road conditions may have been partly to blame.

Last evening around 5 pm, a 24year old woman suffered minor injuries when she was hit be a vehicle at Highway 6 and Middleton Way.

She was treated at hospital and released.

Police are reminding drivers to be aware of their surroundings and  be mindful of winter road conditions.
