McDonald’s Apologizes To Museums

Complaints from museums — including Greater Vernon’s — have led to McDonald’s Canada pulling a national ad.
The ad suggested people would get better value by spending $5 for its new McPick Meal Deal, than spending $5 to visit a museum.
Gabriel Newman from the Greater Vernon Museum says it was wrong for McDonalds to pick on non-profits, and to imply that museums are expensive, or a luxury item.
Other museums also took exception, and the Canadian Museums Association contacted the fast food giant, asking the ad not run anymore.
