It will be status quo at the top of the Regional District of North Okanagan Board of Directors for the next year.
Bob Fleming was acclaimed last evening to remain as Board Chair.
He says it’s a nice vote of confidence.
Vernon City Councillor Juliette Cunningham was acclaimed Vice-Chair.
“I’ve enjoyed working with Juliette and I think it`s important to have that link with our major partner. She`s been a good Vice-Chair and she`s stepped in for me on a number of occasions to take my place at events.”
Fleming is hoping to continue building the working relationship between communities.
“To work on communication within the regional district. So that`s external communication but also internal. Just trying to make things work better between the board and the administration and then between the board and the public.”
He says looking back at the past year, he feels he’s been successful at improving internal communication.
“A little but more formal communication between the chair and the board on topics that are coming up, issues that arise that may affect members of the board or that members of the board may have interest in.”
Fleming says that’s made for a better sounding board among members to provide feedback on issues.
