Economic Development Study For Enderby

Nov 14, 2017 | 7:17 AM

The City of Enderby is looking to its growth and how to manage development

It’s hired a consultancy group through the Rural Dividend Fund to look at the economic opportunities.

Mayor Greg McCune says Aspen Lands is looking at everything from retail to marketing to the industrial park.

” We always have felt that if we could take our proposed industrial area and have somebody come in and analyze it and say you know what,
for the best bang for your dollar, if it was divided like this with a road here, with these type of services, it could move forward.”

He says it’s something Enderby has wanted to do all along, but as a small community it’s difficult for staff to dedicate the time.

“It’s nice to be able to get this together to then present to them to say hey you’re sitting on is chunk of land in Enderby that has then potential to be this.”

The Mayor says that could spur property owners to develop plans for their own growth.

“We just want to invite those people to come have a discussion with this group to, again, instead of them going out and trying to figure out what to do with their piece of land, this may give them some ideas. It’s very exciting.”

Letters have gone out to 55 property owners throughout Enderby who have apiece opf property that has potential.
