Nov 10, 2017 | 1:30 PM

The M-P for North Okanagan Shuswap says the discovery of a young woman’s remains on a rural property, has left residents with more questions than answers.

Mel Arnold says in a statement, it’s a difficult time for the region, especially for the family of Traci Genereaux who he offers his deepest condolences.

“Despite the closure that this chapter of the ongoing investigation may yield, we are all left with more questions than answers of how this could happen in our region.”

Arnold says as we wait for further developments in the police investigation, he asks people to work together to support individuals who are vulnerable or facing serious challenges.

“We cannot forget that Traci Genereaux was a member of a family — a daughter and a sister,” says Arnold.

The remains of the 18 year old Vernon resident were found by police at a farm site on Salmon River Road Oct. 21.
