Rail Trail To Close For Construction

Phase one of Okanagan Rail Trail construction will start next week in the North Okanagan  — and that will mean closures.

The Regional District says starting Tuesday, the trail will be closed 1 km south of Kickwillie Loop in Coldstream.

That section down to Kekuli Bay Park will be closed for the duration of rock scaling, trail construction and development.

“We are asking the public to respect the closure and to stay completely off the closed section of trail for their own safety until further notice,” says Keith Pinkoski, RDNO Manager Parks.

The 12 kilometre section in RDNO, and a 5 km part in Lake Country, are expected to be finished by late November, according to Rail Trail officials.
