Fire Probe Concludes

Investigators have concluded their probe into a Vernon apartment fire that left a woman and her daughter homeless.

A blaze ripped through a unit at the Blue Skies Co-Op in the 44-hundred block of Bella Vista Road Sept. 22nd.

Deputy fire chief Scott Hemstad says the home was basically a total loss.

“The best thing that came out of that fire is that thankfully the mother and daughter were able to evacuate without being injured, and also it was stopped before it spread to the rest of the structure,” Hemstad tells Kiss FM.

Hemstad says the cause was undetermined but accidental.

“That’s about all I can say about it,” says Hemstad.
