Amenities Needed For Rail Trail

With the Okanagan Rail Trail already proving hugely popular, the next step is to plan for issues like washrooms, fencing, garbage and signage.

Greater Vernon Advisory director Jim Garlick says they need to get moving on that.

“Or we will be caught flat footed. They’ll be a year that goes by that people will be using it as an incomplete trail. We’ll have to be cleaning up damage afterwards, so I think it’s a good thing.”

Director Mike Macnabb says the public has to manage its expectations for the trail, noting there won’t be a washroom provided every 100 metres.
