Update on Falkland Wildfires

Crews have been making good progress on three wildfires in the Falkland area that were first noticed last weekend.

BC Wildfire Service Information officer Justine Hunse says two of them have been declared out, and the only active one is 8.8 kilometres up the Knight Forest Service Road

“We had fire fighters action that scene, and now the fire is being held, and is in a patrol phase,” says Hunse.

Hunse says that one hectare fire was found to be caused by lightning.
